Community Guidelines

Almost Hello is a quiet bulletin board for the moments that almost became something more. These guidelines keep the space safe, respectful, and genuinely human.

Keep it kind

Write with empathy. A missed connection is a story, not an accusation. Avoid insults, gossip, or language that could shame or embarrass anyone.

Protect privacy

  • Do not post full names, phone numbers, addresses, workplaces, or social media handles.
  • Do not include identifying details about another person without their consent.
  • Keep descriptions general enough to be romantic, but not specific enough to be stalking.

What belongs here

  • A brief, respectful description of the encounter.
  • The general location or neighborhood.
  • A rough time or date.
  • A warm, open-ended invitation to reconnect.

What does not belong here

  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or explicit content.
  • Advertisements, spam, or promotional posts.
  • Posts about minors or anyone under 18.
  • Content that could be used to locate or track someone against their will.

Moderation

Every note is reviewed before it appears publicly. A moderator may edit, reject, or remove posts that violate these guidelines or that feel unsafe. Repeat violations may result in a ban.

If you see something concerning

If a post makes you uncomfortable or seems to put someone at risk, please reach out to the moderation team at hello@almosthello.com.

The short version

Be human. Be kind. Don’t share identifying details about others. If you’re unsure whether something crosses a line, it probably does.
